Over the weekend for DnDLive2019: The Descent announced Dungeons and Dragons’ next story adventure, Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. Players will be going to hell.,
The new 256 page adventure which is being described as “Hell meets Mad Max: Fury Road,” will be released on September 17th and as the name suggests will be focused on the city of Baldur’s Gate as it slowly succumbs to the sway of corrupt powers and evil gods. Adventurers will then get the chance to descend into the first layer of the nine Hells to discover whether there is a chance for redemption.
Designed by Chris Perkins, Principle Narrative Designer for Dungeons and Dragons, also Spurt from Critical Role, the adventure will take players from level 1 to level 13 as they explore the war-torn Avernus, the fire blasted first level of the Nine Hell’s that’s locked in an endless war between devils and the chaotic demons of The Abyss.
Players will see The Blood War first hand and may even get the chance to dive into it themselves, depending on their bravery or lunacy.
There will also be a custom dice pack themed around the adventure. The pack comes with a set of themed dice, in a box that can be used as a dice tray, a map of Avernus, and more.
We can expect to see Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus in stores September 17th, 2019.
