If you were looking forward to Doom Eternal coming out next month, you’re going to have to wait a bit. The launch date has now been pushed back to March 20, 2020.
While Bethesda acknowledged that this may be a disappointment to fans, they and id Software decided to delay the game in order to live up to “our standards of speed and polish.”
Bethesda and id Software announced three other changes coming to Doom Eternal:
Invasion Mode where the players take on the role of a playable demon and invade another player’s game. This will be released as a free update shortly after the new March 20 release date.
Doom Eternal will also launch on Nintendo Switch, but not on the same day as the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. That date will be announced in the future.
Doom 64 will be provided as a pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal on all platforms. It will also be available to buy separately and will release on all platforms on March 20, 2020.
