Poetry Corner: Scars from Bad Days

Scars from Bad Days

It’s okay you lash out in pain
That you forget how relationships work
When things are rough.
You’re only human.

But you can’t pretend
The cuts you made will disappear
Just because you had a bad day.
They’re still here.

They left a mark.
They were and are painful.
Even if they were made
By lashing out at whoever was closest.

You act like nothing happened,
You didn’t leave any damage behind.
But I’m still bleeding
And you’re still pretending.
